Cold for Born Baby

                         Cold in babies

Cold is less common in new born babies since they partially have their mothers immunity.After 6 months of time the cold becomes more common.cold helps baby immune system to fight against the viruses that cause common cold.Babies start to show signs of a cold about 1 to 3 days after they're infected.

                        SYMPTOMS
Babies undergo various symptoms when they got cold.The symptoms includes

  • Sneezing
  • Cough
  • Rise in body temperature
  • Running nose
  • Skin rashes
  • Fatigue
  • Reduced appetite
  • Disturbed sleeping & trouble in breething
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
Sometimes prolonged cold leads to pneumonia.So consult a doctor when cold persists.Babies with pneumonia also have difficulty in breathing. They could breathe more rapidly than normal, or their breathing could sound difficult.

                                   HOME REMEDIES
Common cold in  babies can be treated in home and able to make baby feel better.Rather using chemicals over babies we can prefer home remedies to treat cold in babies.
This includes 
  • Give plenty of liquids and breastfeed them more often.
  • suck out the mucus using nasal aspirator
  • Use saline nasal spray
  • Give a bath with luke warm water.
  • Make them sleep in upright position
  • Humidify the air if they gets cough.
